Dr. Cristina Catasus grew up in Gainesville, FL before attending Jacksonville University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2007. She then went on to graduate with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee in 2011.
Following graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Catasus went on to complete a year long internship in New Jersey at an equine hospital, specializing in equine surgery and sports medicine, followed by a second year long internship in marine animal medicine in south Florida. She then returned to Jacksonville, where she initially worked in a large and small animal mixed practice and later a small animal exclusive hospital, while also still working part-time with marine mammals in SE Georgia.
Throughout her career, Dr. Catasus's true passion has been in preventative medicine with the goal of helping her patients live long, healthy and happy lives. Outside of work, Dr. Catasus enjoys horseback riding, kayaking, and spending time at the beach, especially with her husband, two kids and many pets.
